I honestly can’t stand when people hate every minute of being single. To me, I think these individuals are missing out on the big picture. They could be experiencing life on their own and taking the time to learn how to become a better person, but instead, they are complaining about being all alone.
Sure, dating might suck, but there is a lot to be thankful for when you’re single.
You Have More Time To Focus On You
At the end of the day, it’s all about you.
I’m sure you have goals and things you want to accomplish in your life. When relationships get in the way, sometimes you’re forced to brush those dreams aside in order to focus more of your energy on the relationship you’re currently in.
Once you start focusing on yourself and seeing all the things you can do without someone by your side, it will be a lot easier to love you for who you are.
You Don’t Have To Share A Bed
Sleep in the middle of the bed if you want!
You don’t have to worry about awkwardly moving out of a cuddle when your arm gets numb and you most certainly won’t be sweating to death sleeping next to someone during those hot summer months.
You Can Save That Money You Would Have Spent On A Significant Other
Treat yo self!
Not that money is the most important thing in life, but it does help knowing that you’re financially stable. With the money you would have spent on someone, spend it on the things you want.
You Don’t Have To Hang Out With People You Hate
Let’s be honest, all of his friends suck.
No matter who you date, there’s always that one friend he or she has that will just drive you up the wall. Thankfully, when you’re single, you can hang out with the people who are actually your friends and not some annoying wannabes.
You Can Hook Up With Anyone You Want
“Variety is the spice of life.” –Grandpa G
Nothing is scarier than being in a relationship where the sex sucks and you feel trapped in that crappy sex life. Lucky for you, being single means you have the freedom to get it on with as many people as you please.
You Don’t Have To Compromise On Dinner
Do you want pizza three nights in a row? Not a problem!
When you’re flying solo, you have the freedom to sleep with as many people as you want to sleep with and eat as much pizza as your heart desires.
You’re Able To Pick Up Your Life And Move Whenever
If you want to move 5,000 miles from where you live, you can!
You never know where life is going to take you and what opportunities could come your way in the future. It could be a job in another country or the desire to live somewhere new that could bring more meaning and adventure to your life. With relationships, you have to think about how the other person would feel about moving and if it would even be possible, but when you’re single, you can pretty much say screw it and pack your bags!
You Don’t Have To Worry About Settling
Zero people will be wasting your time.
There are a lot of unspoken anxieties in relationships and I think the biggest one is wondering if the person you are with at the time could potentially turn into “the one” in the future. Instead of letting those thoughts cross your mind, the only thing a single person has to worry about is deciding on whether to order another glass of wine or an extra dessert when out at dinner (which isn’t even an issue because you can totally order both).
You Have Literally Zero Heartbreak
No more worrying and no more stupid arguments either.
You won’t be waking up in the middle of the night wondering why he hasn’t returned your calls. While you’re spending the evening alone, you also won’t have a single thought cross your mind about if someone is cheating on you.
You Are Living Your Best Life
From what I’ve gathered, the ones who absolutely hate being single, are also the same people who are insecure about who they are as a person. The best part about living alone or not having anyone to call bae before you go to sleep (besides your cat) is knowing that you’re still growing as a person and you aren’t compromising your values to get to where you want to go in life.
Keep on killing that single life!
